Trade finance originator, Mumbai, India, $Competitive
My client, a top tier European bank and strong name in commodities is looking to recruit a Director level trade finance specialist to head up a small team in Mumbai.
The role will involve heading up a team of 6 who originate, structure and execute commodities finance transactions to large cap corporate clients in India and South East Asia.
-Design and build out the existing commodities finance platform in Mumbai and identify market leads in accordance with the global finance program,
-Responsible for the origination of the deals and structuring/ negotiating and executing of the transactions for example pre export finance crude oil deal or metals/mining/gas and power transactions,
-The main client base will be mid cap/ large cap corporate clients so any existing relationships are a real advantage.
This is a specialist position of responsibility and as a result requires a specific set of criteria:
-It is essential to have a senior position on a successful trade finance team and responsibility for structuring, originating and financing large deals to corporate clients,
-It is essential to have experience in either the Indian or South Asian trade finance market so you are very familiar with the market. Ideal candidate will be working on an existing trade finance team in Mumbai/Delhi,
-Highly desirable to have good relations to Indian corporate clients and have an existing client base to push the business forward,
-This is a very open remit which offers the opportunity to builds the business in a variety of ways. Thus any strong names in either structured commodity finance or export finance could be of interest,
-Good communication skills to drive the business forward and inspire junior members of the team.
